Tea and Tattle

Afternoon tea in London is one part tradition, one part baked goods, and, hopefully, five parts creamy deliciousness. While you can get lovely tea in many of the five star hotels around London I discovered that their tea service is a bit stuffier, and much more expensive than I wanted. The Tea and Tattle provides a laid back alternative to a more formal high tea service.

A word of warning though, if you plan on getting the full afternoon tea, come hungry. Tea for one includes your choice of: one tea, one sandwich, one scone and one cake, all for £12.50.

Crab and avocado sandwich, Darjeeling tea

This little cafe is in the basement of the Arthur Probsthain bookstore, and their casual service makes it a nice spot to read and snack in peace.

Scones heaped with clotted cream and brambleberry jam, yuuuuuuuuuuuuum.I made a smiley face with the crumbs.

Exceptionally rich chocolate cake.
